Log into the Yesim mobile app and navigate to the section "Numbers" that displays your virtual mobile numbers. Tap on the message icon to view your messages, and select the conversation to open it.

Virtual numbers are safe; moreover, they provide an extra layer of privacy and security. Since the virtual number is used as a proxy, the sender of the message doesn’t have access to your phone number.

You can use your virtual phone number in any country. As for the numbers themselves (country codes), Yesim offers them for the following countries and regions: United States, United Kindgom, Canada, and The Netherlands. The list of countries is regularly updated and expanded.
A virtual mobile number, or a virtual/VoIP number, is legal and used globally, including in the USA, Canada, UAE, India, and many other countries.
Yes, you can use a virtual phone number for receiving one-time passwords (OTPs). Yesim offers incoming SMS capabilities, making it possible to receive OTPs sent to the virtual number. You can use virtual phone numbers to receive OTPs on platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and many other services that support SMS-based two-factor authentication. This approach is convenient and secure, as it keeps your actual phone number private and reduces the risk of unauthorized access.
There are several ways, and the best one depends on your situation:
1. Prepaid SIM card. You can buy one in the Netherlands, usually without a long-term contract, but you have to be there to get it.
2. Monthly contract. This is cheaper in the long run, but providers often ask for an address and a bank account in the Netherlands and sometimes a BSN, so it's hard to get right after you arrive.
3. Virtual number. With a Yesim virtual number, you choose a Netherlands number in the Yesim app and use it right away to receive SMS verification codes from services that expect a Netherlands number. The codes arrive in the app over Wi-Fi or mobile data, wherever you are.
The virtual number is the fastest option for expats, students and anyone who is still planning a move: you don't need an address in the Netherlands, a bank account or a SIM card.
A Netherlands mobile number starts with 06 in its local form and has 10 digits, for example 06 XXXXXXXX. In international format, the leading 0 is dropped and the country code +31 is added: +31 6 XXXXXXXX.
When you enter a Netherlands number on a website or in an app, follow these rules:
1. Select Netherlands (+31) in the country list, or type the number with ""+31"" at the start.
2. Leave out the first 0 after the country code. For example, 06 12345678 becomes +31 6 12345678.
3. Skip extra spaces, brackets and dashes if the form doesn't accept them, for example +31612345678.
Many services in the Netherlands ask for a Netherlands mobile number for registration and security codes. These are usually:
1. Marketplaces and classifieds.
2. Banks and payment services.
3. Delivery and food ordering apps.
4. Housing and job platforms.
Requirements differ between services and change from time to time, so check the current rules of each service before you rely on a number. If a service asks for a Netherlands mobile number and you don't have a local SIM, a Yesim Netherlands virtual number lets you receive its code in the app.
Yes. A virtual number doesn't depend on a BSN (citizen service number), which you receive only after you register with your municipality, and that can take a while. A Yesim Netherlands number lets you start earlier: before you move, you can already receive codes for housing and job platforms, delivery apps and marketplaces, and after you arrive, you keep receiving them while you register and sort out a local SIM. Services that require a BSN, such as opening a bank account or signing a contract, will still ask for it, so a phone number doesn't replace that step.
